Story
I was back in the same part of the Koʻolau above Hawaiʻi Kai where I had photographed a lehua bud beginning to open. It was wet and cloudy again, with a good amount of wind. This time, two yellow lehua mamo blossoms were fully open and growing close together.
Their deep yellow stood out against the gray, hazy sky. I liked how the two blossoms sat together in the frame, with open sky behind them. I stopped to photograph that contrast.
